Today I wanted to make something hummus like, but different at the same time. So I finally made a bean dip. I wanted to try this already for a long time, no excuse anymore!
Beans are good for you, they contain a lot of dietary fiber and protein. On top of that they are almost fat free. On the fiber side, these legumes contain both the type of fiber that regulates your blood sugar level as well as the type that helps to prevent constipation. When I look at that food I regularly eat, beans, or legumes in general, are not so often on my plate. Making a spread that you can eat with raw veggies or put on your sandwich, to me is a great way of increasing my legume intake. Oven roasted garlic, rosemary and fresh lemon juice, so very well together with the beans. Result: a silky smooth spread, that looks a bit like hummus, but has a totally different and unique taste.
What about you? Hot do you like to eat your beans?
