Smoothies, I love them. They fill you up, are packed with good nutrients and are an excellent way to use ripe fruits or veggies. And did you know you can easily add superfoods to them?
Today a vegan fruit smoothie with some extra protein from hemp seeds. Did you know that hemp seeds consist of almost 30% of protein, and that they are one of the rare foods that contain all 20 amino acids, including the 9 essential amino acids that our bodies cannot produce themselves? Quite interesting isn’t it? On top of that they contain many more good nutrients and are rich in omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids.
In this smoothie I have used a mix of fresh and frozen fruits, and added some vanilla for extra sweetness and mint for freshness.
raspberry smoothie
vegan smoothie with fresh and frozen fruits and some extra protein from hemp seeds
Ingredients
- 125 gr banana ripe
- 125 gr strawberries
- 75 gr raspberries frozen
- 75 gr pomegranate seeds
- 20 gr hemp seeds
- 6 leaves fresh mint
- 1/4 tsp vanilla powder
- 250 ml almond milk
Instructions

put all the ingredients in your blender and blend until smooth and well combined. Optionally you can add 2 or 3 icecubes
