Sometimes it not about the looks… but really only about the taste. This jam is a good example of this kind of food. Golden kiwi chia jam with ginger, agave syrup lime and mint. It taste by far better than it you would think by looking at this photo, I can promise you that!
Chia seeds are a great way to make refined sugar free jam. They more or less take over the role of pectin, that you would normally use to thicken your jam. Chia seeds naturally get jelly when they are in contact with liquid. Result: the perfect consistency for a great, healthy, unrefined jam.
Golden kiwi are a real vitamine C booster. Besides that fast that they taste sweet but with a lot of freshness to it as well, they are really good for your health. A perfect way to eat your daily fruit and make sure your vitamine C intake is perfectly in shape!
golden kiwi chia jam
jam made from golden kiwi with ginger, agave syrup, lime juice and fresh mint
Ingredients
- 200 gr golden kiwi 3 pieces
- 2 tsp ginger fresh, grated
- 2 tbsp agave syrup
- 2 tbsp chia seeds
- 1 tbsp lime juice
- 1 sprig fresh mint leaves only
Instructions

peel and roughly chop the kiwis. Peel and grate the ginger

heat the kiwi, ginger and agave syrup on a medium heat until it boils. Let it simmer for 5 minutes. Add the chia seeds and simmer for another 5 minutes or until the kiwi is soft and the jam starts to thicken

take of the heat and let it cool down a little bit. Then add the lime juice and fresh mint. Put the jam in a closed sterilised jar and let it cool down completely. Store in the fridge
